A Sabarsky regular, German-born and New York–based Theo Bleckmann envelops his songs with poise, humor, depth and yearning. He has performed world-wide with artists like Laurie Anderson, Meredith Monk, Philip Glass, Bobby McFerrin and Michael Tilson Thomas, and his deep roots in jazz enliven his interpretations of Brecht, Eisler, Weill, Strauss, and Kraftwerk. Bleckmann’s performance will include selections from his most recent release on Winter&Winter: Berlin—Songs of War and Love, Peace and Exile.
This performance by Theo Bleckmann replaces the originally scheduled appearance of Hudson Shad.

Performance at 9 PM preceded by prix-fixe dinner at 7 PM (must be purchased together).
Neue Galerie New York—a museum devoted to German and Austrian art of the early 20th century—presents a cabaret series in the Café Sabarsky, an intimate 60-seat room exquisitely appointed with period objects, including lighting fixtures by Josef Hoffmann and furniture by Adolf Loos. The restaurant draws its inspiration from the great cafés that served as important centers of intellectual and cultural life at the turn of the 20th century. During Berlin in Lights, the series will focus on Berlin cabaret.
