The Simón Bolívar Youth Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1975 by José Antonio Abreu, has continuously aimed to create new opportunities for musical excellence in Venezuela for the past 30 years.
Composed in the fall of 1843, Le carnaval romain Overture was based on music from Berlioz’s opera Benvenuto Cellini. The Overture was first performed on February 3, 1844, in Paris, under the composer’s baton.
