Nicole Krauss

Born in 1974, Nicole Krauss is an American writer whose novels have received much critical acclaim. Her first novel, Man Walks into a Room, was named Book of the Year by the Los Angeles Times. Her second novel, The History of Love, was short-listed for the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2006. Ms. Krauss’s fiction has been published in the New Yorker, Esquire, and Best American Short Stories. Her poetry has appeared in publications including the Paris Review, Ploughshares, and Doubletake. She attended Stanford University and furthered her studies at Oxford University and the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. She was the Holtzbrinck Fellow in spring 2007 at The American Academy in Berlin. She currently lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband, novelist Jonathan Safran Foer.
